Set A Spring Table

Everywhere I look in Boston there are piles of snow that will likely linger until April. With the forecast calling for rain/sleet/snow mix for the next three days I am dreaming of spring! I have a set of HEN HOUSE LINENS and I love their products. Luh-ve!

Jenny Davis is the head of the company and a native of North Carolina. She believes in true southern hospitality and enjoying a good meal with family and friends. Be sure to check out their products and stock up for spring entertaining.

Cold Comfort Food - Short Rib Ragu

Is your mouth watering? Mine was when my sister mentioned she was making short rib ragu. Yuuuummmm! She said it was a huge hit when she served it last week. She served it over pasta. With more snow expected this weekend in Boston, this may be just what the doctor ordered!  RECIPE

And the Oscar Goes To....

I look forward to the Oscars every year and always have at least a few folks over to sip some bubbles and enjoy the show. Seth McFarlane went to school with my brother so I can't wait to see what he has in store as the host for the evening! Here are some fun and simple ideas to add to your Oscar fete.

I love these DIY Oscar statues to include on your table setting HERE

How about a table like this one from Martha Stewart? Mix and match votives or even use Moroccan tea glasses as holders. Details on how to make your stars HERE

On My List: James Restaurant

This weekend I am supposed to be in NYC visiting my sisters. The 20+ inches of snow predicted in Boston may put a wrench in my plans. But when I do make it for a visit the plan is to have brunch at JAMES.

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of an apartment building in Prospect Heights. It is run by the husband/wife team of Bryan Calvert and Deborah Williamson. They live in the apartment above and even have a rooftop garden where they grow fresh herbs for cooking.
