Party Details: Chic Holiday Dinner

Every year I host an annual holiday dinner for my closest friends. Here is my table from last year with a fresh, modern holiday look.  The color theme: green, white and silver. I arranged flowers in a revere bowl with berries and rosemary to add interest and texture along with roses, freesia and lilies.

The tablecloth was made with Dwell Fabric I found on sale at FABRIC.COM

My favorite addition to the table are the bucks. Love them! I made collars out of boxwood from my mantle for an extra pop.

The place card holders I made with a glue gun and assorted Christmas balls.

The final touches: silver chargers, silver napkin rings and silver tapers. And the table was complete!

The menu:
Assorted Cheeses and Crackers with Fig Jam
Red and White Wines
Pork Loin with Chunky Apple Walnut Sauce RECIPE
Grantineed Acorn Squash from PRETTY PINK TULIPS
Arugula Salad
Gingerbread topped with Caramel Sauce, Ice Cream and Candied Pecans from LA DOLFINA
Champagne (I always serve bubbly with dessert)

This year due to a work event the same day as the dinner, I am treating everyone to dinner out at one of Boston's best restaurants. Plenty of good food, holiday cheer and no cooking!

  1. I just love your table setting. The little wreaths around the bucks are adorable!! So happy you served the squash. I haven't made it yet this year, but have a week's worth of house guests coming my way...so I still have time.

I think treating your friends to a night out is a wonderful idea. And you will be able to enjoy yourself every bit as much as your guests.

    Happy holidays, Kate!

  3. So beautiful - and the menu looks delicious. Love the white flowers and the deer. I'm co-hosting a bash tomorrow (we have pork loin on the menu, too!) and have a dinner in our home on Saturday. Hope some of your table top magic rubs off on me!

  12. Since so many of you have emailed asking, the bucks are from Z Gallerie. I am not sure they are selling them again this year.

  13. WOW! The tablecloth makes the table. I love that fabric and I can't believe you found it on sale. It makes the whole thing look expensive and custom!
