Favorite Napa Spot

My favorite spot in Napa Valley is AUBERGE DU SOLEIL. If staying there is too rich for your budget, then at least go for drinks and dinner. The views from the deck are breathtaking.

Napa Bachelorette Party

One of our brides lives in California and her soon-to-be husband has a family vineyard in the Napa Valley. So when she planned her Bachelorette Weekend, it seemed like the perfect spot! She was kind of enough to share the details, so you too can plan  an ideal weekend for your bachelorette or just a trip with friends.  Saturday started with a limo tour of a few vineyards

Dinner after a full day of sampling wines was held at the house looking over the family's vineyard. The menu included paella from a recipe by Gwenyth Paltrow and her good pal, Mario Batali.

Sunday everyone headed to the HOTEL HEALDSBURG for massages at their luxurious spa

The weekend concluded at one of the best restaurants in the area, Charlie Palmer's DRY CREEK KITCHEN

Dinner was served in the private wine library and the group enjoyed a selection of wines from the vineyards they visited on Saturday.

Beachside in Malibu

Janette of JANETTE MALLORY INTERIORS recently sent me images of remodel she did at SUNSET RESTAURANT in Malibu, CA. As I love Janette's style and her blog, I couldn't wait to see the photos.

The Sunset is open for brunch and dinner and has a large number of regular (and often celebrity) clientele. After paying a visit to this divine seaside locale, you’re bound to become a regular, too.

The venue is a great example of Janette's work which results in beautiful, contemporary interiors. 

She also sent me images of the weddings on the beach that the Sunset has planned - now I was swooning!

Thanks Janette! I will be sure to put the Sunset on my "must list" when I am next in CA.
