Easter Entertaining

With all of the snow we have had in Boston (including 14 inches last week), it is hard to believe that Easter is just two weeks away. I am loving all of the options for entertaining and Easter baskets at TERRAIN. 

Easter in CT

I have finally downloaded a few photos from Easter Weekend. The first part of the weekend (with endless blue skies) was spent outside of Millbrook, NY with dear friends. Their family "farm" has the most beautiful setting with stunning views. My Jack Russell Terrier never wanted to leave!

Then it was down to Dixie's (my Mum and the force behind Party Resources) in Kent, CT for Easter Dinner. This is not the best photo, but it gives you a sense of the stunning table.

Each place had a decadent chocolate bunny from the fabulous BELGIQUE CHOCOLATE which has it's original store in Kent and now a second shop in New Canaan, CT. Well worth the trip if you are in the area! Dixie wrote each person's name on the tag, so the bunnies served double duty as place cards. Adorable!

Love love love this Easter Table by Jenny Hobick. How have I not found her blog before, especially since she lives in Boston? Check it out HERE . Either table would be easy to do for your friends and family. Have a wonderful holiday and eat lots of chocolate!

Easter Table Inspiration

You may remember reading about my friend Katie's wedding HERE. Recently she has also launched a blog which you can check out HERE. She was kind enough to pull together a table for Easter. I think you will love her fun and festive ideas.

The sources for the items are below, in case you want to add one of these touches to your table.

To fold your napkins like those pictured above, here are the directions:

Spread a dinner napkin out, lying flat. Fold opposite sides in so they meet at the center. Then fold again at the center to form a narrow, ribbonlike shape. Next, fold short ends in so they meet at the center. Cinch in the middle with a ribbon in a coordinating color, and glue at back.

For the Easter Bunny

Happy April! My friend Katie enjoys entertaining as much as I do. I only wish she were in Boston, instead of Philly, so I could be a regular guest at her table! She is planning an Easter Brunch and was kind enough to send along her ideas. 

An EVITE that is adorable and saves time and money

For flowers, Katie's new favorite for spring are ranunculus.  They are sweet, colorful and last a long time. Cluster groups in the center of the table in tin vases or mason jars, and then the guests can take them home as favors. Find more arrangement ideas HERE. 

For place settings, individual baskets filled with straw, a chocolate bunny and a place card. For the "how to" on this idea go HERE.

Egg decorating can be creative fun for adults too! There are so many great ideas on how to decorate eggs on Martha's WEBSITE. Plan ahead and make sure you have the supplies you need on hand.

 For cocktails, a yummy 'bellini' with a dash of pineapple juice, and mango puree.  Garnish with fresh raspberries or strawberries for a pop of pink! RECIPE

For brunch, a FRUIT SALAD with lemon curd

HAM QUICHE with asparagus and herbs - it doesn't feel like Easter without the traditional ham!

And Honey Ricotta TURNOVERS that can be made the night before

And the finale, CUSTOM CAKES in the shape of spring chicks - ideal for Easter.
