Beach Bound...Again

I am beach bound again...this time for a week on Martha's Vineyard. Summer sun, cold wine, lobster, toes in the sand, the sound of the waves and great friends. Heaven.

I am going to drink in these views with a book and a glass of wine. I'll be back on the 27th. Enjoy the last few weeks of the summer!

Beach Bound

At the end of the week I am packing my bags again for another week on the beach. This time I am off to Martha's Vineyard with a group of gal pals. This has me thinking of outdoor entertaining, lobster and all things nautical.

Canvas Tote Bags as Centerpiece. This is so simple = just nestle the vase inside custom totes.

Or a centerpiece of shells. Details HERE

Seersucker Cocktail Napkins. Find directions HERE.

Or these stenciled napkins

And, of course, it is not dinner by the beach without lobster. HERE is a recipe for a classic lobster bake.

Dining on Martha's Vineyard

Having shaken the last bit of sand out of my bags from a week on the Cape, I am already looking ahead to my next vacation. Later this month I will be on Martha's Vineyard for a week in Chilmark with gal pals. On the top of my list is dinner at STATE ROAD which has been named the best restaurant on the Vineyard for the last three years.

Opened in 2009, State Road is a contemporary American tavern offering seasonally inspired food. The menu highlights local ingredients from nearby farms and bountiful local seafood. The menu is enhanced by herbs, vegetables and fruits from their own garden.

Martha's Vineyard Farm to Table

I grew up spending my summers on the Cape and look forward to returning to Wellfleet in July. But I am also going to be on the Vineyard in late August with one of my best friends and some of her pals. Fun! On my "to do" list is a Farm to Table Dinner at BEETLEBUNG FARM.

By The Beach

Last weekend I was on Martha's Vineyard with friends for the Chilmark Road Race and fun in the sun. While I still prefer the Cape, a weekend in Chilmark was a close second!  Here is some beach inspiration that had me thinking about entertaining on the Vineyard...soak in the last weeks of summer!
