Dining on the Deck

I love entertaining on my deck. It is a luxury to have outdoor space in the city and I try to take full advantage of mine! This photo was a very simple and casual Sunday supper from a few weeks ago. Not my fanciest of tables, as it was put together in about seven minutes.

The place mats are from HP DESIGNS and ideal for dining outdoors! They would also make a great gift. Here are a few styles I love.

The ones I have pictured above

A few other fun styles - but be sure to check out their website to see the full collection!

Rustic Country Christmas

Since I live in the city, my Christmas decor is modern and classic. But I love the idea of a rustic Christmas in the mountains with snow, pine trees and a roaring fire.

During such an incredibly sad time for our country (Newtown is 40 minutes from my family in CT), may we count our blessings and appreciate the little things this holiday season.

Fall Outdoor Decor

Driving back to Boston on Labor Day, I noticed how many of the trees along the Mass Pike have a tinge of color. (Heavy sigh...) Summer is really, truly over here in MA. In an effort to embrace autumn, I decided to do a post on fun, fab ways to decorate for fall.

Alfresco

The weather in New England has been beautiful and much of this past weekend was spent enjoying the sunshine. Is there anything better that entertaining outside? Encourage your friends to bring an extra layer and have at least cocktails outside before moving in for dinner. You'll be glad you did! No need to wait for summer.

Christmas in Savannah

One of my most favorite cousins (Jane) lives in the beautiful historic section of Savannah. If you have not visited this wonderful city, you need to book a trip! Jane was kind enough to take us on a walking tour of Savannah during the holidays. Before Christmas 2011 feels like a distant memory, I wanted to share the photos with all of you. Ready to enjoy a tour with southern charm? Me, too!

If you look closely in this window, you can spot Jane!
