On My List: Salt House Inn

One of the best parts about living in Boston is how easy it is to get to Cape Cod for a weekend. I have been spending time there since I was little and no place makes me happier during the summer months. I recently read about the SALT HOUSE INN in Provincetown. The boutique hotel is the collaboration of two big names in the hotel world—C.O.O. of AndrĂ© Balazs Properties David Bowd and Starwood Hotels interior designer Kevin O’Shea.

Kevin O'Shea's impeccable style is evident through out the property!

Every morning you will have a decadent breakfast waiting for you including homemade granola. Yes, please!

On My List: Stonover Farm

A friend recently mentioned that she and her husband are planning a weekend escape to STONOVER FARM in the Berkshires. My my mum (Dixie) is in Litchfield County and I thought I knew all of the great places to stay in the area. Apparently not!

The Farm is a luxury B + B located in the idyllic town of Lenox. The property is owned and managed by Tom and Suky Werman. Both were raised and educated on the east coast, and after spending 23 years in Los Angeles, they are thrilled to be back! While in Los Angeles, Tom worked as a rock record producer, with over 20 gold and platinum albums to his credit. Suky taught 5th grade and was a museum educator. While they loved the West Coast, after visiting Lenox several times on vacation, they knew it was the perfect place for a bed and breakfast.

I am putting this on my list!

On My List: SoLo in Vermont

It is no secret that I love escaping for the weekend to the mountains of Vermont - especially to the Woodstock Inn. I recently read about SOLO FARM AND TABLE and it is now on my list.

The restaurant is family run by Chloe and Wesley Genovart who have returned to Vermont after 10+ years away to raise their family and create a beautiful little restaurant.

Wesley is originally from Spain and he has worked in a handful of some of the most acclaimed kitchens throughout the world. Chloe was raised in the area, met Wesley working as a waitress while he a cook in 2001. Together they have lived and traveled extensively throughout Europe spending any free time that they had together experiencing different cultures and tasting the food of many different regions. The restaurant was nominated by Bob Appetit as one of the best new spots in 2012.

On My List: Sirocco in Bangkok

SIROCCO located in the Lebua Hotel in Bangkok has the to be the hippest, sexiest party space on the planet. Never mind with my fear of heights I would be white knuckling my cocktail, I think I would muster up the courage to take in this breathtaking view!

Located on the 63rd floor of The Dome at State Tower, Sirocco is the world's highest al fresco restaurant.

With a breathtaking view of Bangkok, the deck dramatically hangs out over the sky. Spectacular!

Best Find in 2012

Now you don't have to be a socialite or a Wall Streeter to have a driver at your service.  My best find in 2012 is UBER - your own private car service.

Download the app on your iPhone and you can order a town car in minutes for prices competitive with a cab. Genius! It is all billed through your phone (tip too) and you get a text when your car is en route and when it is pulling up to your door (or wherever you may be).

The drivers are so professional and it is so easy. I am addicted. Uber is in many major US cities so check it out! Besides...you should arrive at your next event in style!

Favorite Vermont Escape

This past weekend I was at the WOODSTOCK INN in Vermont - one of my favorite resorts! The weekend after New Year's was the perfect time to go, as the town and the inn were still beautifully decorated for Christmas but without any of the holiday crowds.

A few photos of the charming town

The inn now as top notch spa with a wide variety of services. This is just the lobby. It is beautiful with lighting fixtures by Simon Pearce.

And, of course, an incredible meal at SIMON PEARCE in Quechee. Great food, service and wine overlooking the river. If you have not been to this charming New England town you need to plan a trip!
