New York Best Eats

There are many great restaurants around the globe, but nothing beats New York for the selection. My friend Adia works in Guest Relations for the Thomas Keller Group. She is a style maven and I am delighted she agreed to share her favorite spots in NYC.

Brunch - BARBUTO Jonathan Waxman's beautiful space is just blocks away from Chelsea Market and you can enjoy good wine and a pizza straight out of the wood burning oven. With a full bar, delicious food and ample outdoor seating this is an ideal spot for a late brunch.

Lunch - 'WITCHCRAFT  is the best spot to grab a sandwich and enjoy it with a friend, or a book, in Bryant Park.

Dinner on a Budget - EL COCOTERO in Chelsea is a must.  Start with a glass of sangria and tortilla chips followed by one the signature "el cocoteros" which are baked and stuffed white corn pockets. Adia's favorite is the Chiquinquira with cheese, avocado and tomatoes. Dinner under $20? Yes, please!

Dinner Worth a Splurge ELEVEN MADISON PARK is one of the best places in the city and an evening there is worth breaking the bank! Phenomenal food paired with great ambience and impeccable service - it is easy to see why Eleven Madison Park received 4 stars from the New York Times and the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant.

Cocktails - The FRYING PAN is the ultimate "dive" bar. Built in 1929, this historic lightship is said to have spent three years at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay before being salvaged and brought to Chelsea Piers. The boat, docked on a railroad car barge, boasts a musty, barnacle-encrusted interior (complete with catwalks and an exposed engine room) straight out of a Nine Inch Nails video.

Sweets - BOUCHON BAKERY is the place to go for sweets. While they are famous for Thomas Keller's French Macaron's, there is a wide variety of other tempting treats!
