Lisa
I love Lisa's blog HAMPTONTOES and have so enjoyed getting to know her through the world of Bloggerdom. She is lovely! I was thrilled when she agreed to do a guest post on the Hamptons.
Best Flowers:
Lisa often cuts flowers from her garden. If she needs to buy flowers, she heads to CITARELLA MARKET. For plants for the garden, Lisa recommends WHITMORE GARDENS.
Favorite Spot for Cocktails:
EAST HAMPTON POINT is on the water and is a great spot to enjoy a cocktail at sunset.
Or just down the street, try THE BOATHOUSE.
Best Spot for Breakfast:
The lines at GOLDBERG'S FAMOUS DELI are long for a reason and it's worth the wait. Try the Everything Bagel with Lox.
Another breakfast must? The homemade donuts at DREESEN'S. Lisa admits this is one of her guilty pleasures!
Great Lunch Location:
HAMPTON CHUTNEY has delicious dosas. Lisa's fave? Tuna with cilantro dressing, avocado, arugula and tomato. Yum!
Another Hamptons must for lunch is LOBSTER ROLL (aka Lunch) where the lobster roll (go figure) is the best in the area.
Can't make it to Long Island? You can buy the COOKBOOK.
Best Dinner in a New Spot:
RACE LANE in East Hampton is new this season. The menu is amazing and the food is delicious. Combine this with a fun, chic interior and who could ask for more? (They even have little notebooks on each table in case you are struck by an inspirational thought.)
Best Shop for Home Accessories:
MECOX GARDENS in East Hampton or Southampton has great accessories, art, furniture and more. And excellent customer service!
Fun with the Kids:
Take a trip to CHILDREN'S MUSEUM of EAST END - Lisa's kids love it! The museum has a New Year's party for the wee ones with a ball drop, confetti and count down at noon. How adorable!
DYLAN'S CANDY BAR now has a store in East Hampton. A guaranteed hit!
In the fall, take the kids to HANKS PUMPKIN TOWN for fresh cider, hay rides and the corn maze.
How about that for local scoop! I am sure you all agree - Lisa rocks!

I have been DYING for a lobster roll all summer!
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great post! How fun to have been a guest on your blog!
I think a trip is in order! That sunset is amazing! xo
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this, I'm dying to come and visit!!!
ReplyDeleteMany of Lisa's Hampton favorites are mine, too! It's a family tradition to get up early and grab coffee at Citarella's and head over to Dreesens for donuts. And the sunset at the Point are a beautiful way to end the day. Great post!
ReplyDeleteUm apparently I have to make it to the Hamptons next summer. Thanks for the vacation inspiration!
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Small Town Girl
Miss the Hamptons! Its been too long! Love LUNCH and Dreesens and so much more! Thanks Lisa!
ReplyDeleteWe ate at Pierre's this summer. Pierre did not want to seat us because our party was incomplete, but eventually relented, because we opted for a party of two. Pierre might be uppity, but the food was delicious and the service really nice. The atmosphere was fun and crowded. I envy you Hamptons folks. There is so much going on, all year round, and I love the Jitney. I wish we had them in N.C. Maybe we can have a lobster roll together next time I'm up visiting. Party resources might like my friend Anne, from boutique tents. I just posted about her beautiful creations, she is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHurrah!!!! I can finally leave comments, Kate! I for one love the Hamptons...but as I only get to visit periodically, it is so helpful to have Lisa's "insider" information. I'll be out there at the end of August - can not wait!!!
