Holiday Party Tips: Good Life of Design

Traditional Home

Few people enjoy the process of design more than Kathysue from GOOD LIFE OF DESIGN. You will enjoy her blog and her enthusiasm - I find it infectious! Today she is sharing her tips on holiday entertaining.

Best Sources For Holiday Inspiration:
MARTHA STEWART for perfect decor

And, of course, EDDIE ROSS

Nobody has better recipes than INA GARTEN - perfect for Christmas Dinner

BEEF BOURGUIGNON

CORNISH HENS

ROSEMARY ROASTED POTATOES

RED BERRY TRIFLE

Favorite Holiday Cocktails

Sparkling Pear and Cranberry Cocktail RECIPE

Non-alcoholic drinks
A cranberry spritzer with cranberry juice and ginger ale with a squeeze of fresh lime and then put a wedge in the drink. Or add a sprig of rosemary. So festive!

Or Ghirardelli hot chocolate with whipped cream and a crushed candy cane on top.

Favorite Holiday Tunes for Entertaining
Chris Botti, James Taylor, and Diana Krall are Kathysue's favorites and HERE is her Christmas Playlist.

Best Hostess Gift to Leave Under the Tree
Monogrammed cocktail napkins from POTTERY BARN are the perfect gift. Who can’t use more cocktail napkins? They are a great quality and very reasonably priced.

Favorite Party You Attend
A party at a friend's house on the Delta. The home overlooks the river and the boats. The lights shining on the water are spectacular. It is a special evening with a delicious catered dinner enjoyed in the company of close friends.

One of the boats decorated for the holidays that go right behind the house.

Favorite Holiday Tradition in Your Home
Every year Kathysue gives her sons an ornament with a different theme. As a result, the tree is full of family memories.

Thank you for such great holiday cheer, Kathysue!
