Five for Fall - Hampton Hostess

Barbara from HAMPTON HOSTESS is my next guest in the Five for Fall Series. If you are not a regular reader, I suggest you hop over - stat - to experience her inpeccable taste.

Barbara likes to mix and match plates and silverware which gives the table a layered, cultivated feeling. A basic charger compliments the scenic plate, topped with the perfect autumnal corn cob!

1. Greet your guests with a signature cocktail - people like to try new cocktails and it's a great ice breaker. Try a classic Manhattan. RECIPE

2. People love to nibble before dinner. A bowl of whole walnuts with a charming nutcracker keeps everyone busy and happy! Find one HERE

3. Bring your collection to the table like Barbara's antique sterling napkin rings she has collected over the years. Most of them are engraved with initials that aren't hers, but still make a great statement on the table.

4. A great neutral tablecloth with a small band of color adds texture to your table and enhances your beautiful dinner plates.

5. Don't forget dessert. Macaron's are all the rage right now and a beautiful tray of chestnut filled macarons are the perfect ending to a fall dinner. RECIPE

Thanks, Barbara!

  4. Love it all....yes to anything sterling, even better if its monogrammed, and neutral earthy toned linens always work. Love the idea of whole walnuts and a fun whimsical nutcracker, in addition to being healthy, it is awfully pretty! Great post, thanks to you both!
