I have been to FELIDIA a few times in the "old days" when Lidia would roam the dining room and chat with diners. She is lovely! The food is fantastic, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming - just like a trip to Italy. Well worth a visit!
Now Lidia is a celebrity chef and has multiple restaurants including ESCA
And DEL POSTO
Lidia has a few cookbooks, but this is the best. You can buy a copy HERE
A few of my favorite recipes from Lidia include SHRIMP SCAMPI
ZITI with sausage and fennel
And my latest discovery of the Bastianich Clan? They produce the best wine. Really. To die for. You can read about the wine selection HERE. So far I have only sampled the Friulano.
And am now on the hunt for the Rosato which is perfect for the warmer weather around the corner
And the Sauvignon Blanc which is my favorite white
Lasagna please with a glass of white! Yum!

Wine from Lydia? Who knew! I am game though and will try it! Love her, her shows, her book and her restaurants..shes a master! I enjoyed very much going to Del Posto last year and Becco is a frequent stop when we go to the theater...great post to honor a fantastic lady.
ReplyDeleteI love Lidia Bastianich, and sauvignon blanc is my favorite white too!! I'll have to hunt that one down...
ReplyDeleteLove Lydia...and all her restuarants. She and Mario Batali recently opened an Italian market and wine shop in the town next to me, Port Chester. I need to go check it out...I didn't know she had her own label.

Che brava! I love Lydia (did you see her on Top Chef last week?) and even more so now that I know that there's wine in the mix... I will definitely be trying the Sauvignon Blanc when the weather warms up!

Mr. Zhush is obsessed with Lydia! However, despite his love of wines, he knows nothing about this...so excited to "one up" him here...:) Thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the wine. Now I'll have to look for it.
