When I was in Greenwich, CT visiting friends, I finally had a chance to visit TARRY MARKET. It was well worth the wait! The market is owned by celebrity chefs, Lidia Bastianich and Mario Batali.
I brought my camera, and my wallet, and could have spent all day! The gourmet store has a wonderful selection of italian coffee, rows and rows of olive oils.
Beautifully packaged baked goods including panettone
An entire case of freshly made pastas. I bought mushroom stuffed ravioli. After cooking the pasta in boiling water, I drained them and tossed them in browned butter with fresh thyme for out-of-town guests. So delicious and so simple!
Assorted breads backed daily
The most amazing collection of cheeses
Honey
Really, really fresh mozarella
And fresh, farm raised beef
And as any good chef knows, a meal is not complete without a great glass of wine
This post makes me want to jump in my car this very minute and head there!! This is my kind of field trip...like a kid in a candy store I could spend all day in a shop like this. Talk about getting inspired to make a great meal!! Thanks for the heads up....we are invited to Greenwich next weekend for a housewarming party so looks like we will be going a little early to make a "pit stop"! Thanks.....
ReplyDeleteGreat store. Reminds me of Fresh Market. I could spend days there.

I feel like I'm wandering in Dean and Deluca...one of my favorite places!! Thanks for having us guest post this week. It was a treat. My blogger has been out the last few days and would not let me comment on blogs...ugh!
ReplyDeleteI must go with my Italian friends! I am sure we will all be inspired to taste and to shop!
